Ethics workshop on: Ethical Issues in Literature and Document Based Research Margaretta Jolly examined her statement to a funding body about the ethical implications of her research on the history of contemporary letter writing practices in the women's movement. She told a story about tricky relationships with letter writers, archivists, journal editors and readers. Her story ended with a defence of using life writing materials and methods in the public domain within an ethics of care, including, at times, challenging the over-institutionalisation of humanities research.
