Exceptional Capabilities Creating Superior Solutions
Welcome to the Institute for Environmental Health, Inc. (IEH). Our select staff of
scientists collectively possesses hundreds of years experience in problem solving. We
pride ourselves in offering outstanding research and consultation capabilities for
investigating microbiological issues in food, water, and indoor air quality (IAQ). We
utilize advanced technology in conjunction with establishing a personal partnership with
our clients. Contact us today for:
 Food Safety
IEH designs and executes studies to validate microbial intervention steps to manage
pathogens including, but certainly not limited to: E. coli O157:H7, Listeria
monocytogenes, Salmonella spp., Bacillus cereus, Clostridium perfringens,
Staphylococcus, and molds.
Talk to us about your specific needs. We currently operate more than ten modular
laboratories throughout the United States. These modular labs are equipped and
staffed with advanced molecular and classical microbiological capabilities. This is a
complete turnkey approach to giving larger food production facilities bona fide third
party results with the fastest possible turn around time. The modular on site facilities
are dedicated laboratories equipped and staffed by IEH.
We also offer statistical trend line analysis. This service permits us to provide an
early warning system that allows for food production facilities to have an advanced
forecast that possible microbiological problems could be developing.
This is
certainly one of the key differentiating factors that separate us from the other
analytical service providers!
IEH has HACCP expertise in developing, implementing and auditing HACCP
programs. IEH provides answers to questions like these:
 Do pathogen levels on incoming raw materials vary by supplier?
 Are all microbial intervention steps working as planned?
 Are heating and cooling steps meeting their microbial control objectives?
 How well are sanitation procedures working?
 Is there any possibility that product will become contaminated after it is
produced?

 Molecular Source Tracking
IEH utilizes advanced DNA based PCR systems as the basis for an epidemiological
tracking system for bacterial source detection. This method is used identify sources
of microbial contamination and map their distribution and movement in watersheds,
rivers, lakes and drinking water systems. Our applied methods can also be utilized
throughout the agricultural and food industries by obtaining genetic fingerprints of
pathogens.
 Source water, Drinking Water and Wastewater
IEH provides solutions for surface and ground water treatment as well as water
recycling for industrial uses. We have provided design, installation, start-up,
treatment evaluations, training and maintenance. Once again, utilizing the most
advanced technologies available, IEH is internationally recognized for demonstrating
outstanding technical leadership!
 Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)
IEH uses a comprehensive approach to resolve indoor air quality issues. We assess
and address all aspects of the case from all of the parties involved. We provide an
analytical evaluation of all pertinent environmental agents, including, but not limited
to mold, building envelope integrity and HVAC performance
 Industrial Hygiene
IEH recognizes, measures and controls chemical, biological, ergonomic work place
hazards. Our team is comprised of several Doctorate and advanced degreed &
certified specialists that have worked with all types of industrial environments. Our
systematic approach allows for IEH to identify, assess and prioritize our client’s
exposure to workplace liabilities.
We have also prepared many ammonia refrigeration specific OSHA PSM/EPA RMP
programs. We offer total plan management including, but not limited to training,
auditing and documentation.
