JOB SUMMARY:

To work in collaboration with the consultant transplant surgeon on the overall
surgical management of transplant patients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
2.1
Report to Clinical Director of General Surgery.
2.2
Pre-operative assessment clinic.
2.3
Helps the Consultant Transplant Surgeon in the overall operative management.
2.4
Post operative follow up
2.5
Helps the consultant transplant surgeon in the management of transplant
patients with surgical problems.
2.6
Attend on call duties according to the requirements of the department.
2.7
Abides by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and
regulations of the Medical Staff and those specific to the department.
2.8
Provides the highest attainable standard of medical care for the patients for
whom he is responsible.
2.9
Carries out full range of inpatient and outpatient clinical duties as assigned by
the Clinical Director General surgery/Consultant in accordance with
individually approved clinical privileges.
2.10 Teaches staff assigned for training purposes, and participates with the Clinical
Director of General Surgery and Consultant in planning a programme of career
development for trainees.
2.11 Fulfills the requirements of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties with regard
to continuing medical education.
2.12 Participates in and/or actively supports approved research projects.

2.13 Deputizes for the Consultant as required and shares workload in his specialty
during the absence of his colleagues.
2.14 Strives to improve his clinical expertise as well as standard of practice with
regard to morbidity and cost effectiveness.
2.15 Participates in the Major Disaster Plan of the hospital, as indicated.
2.16 Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her
knowledge, skills and abilities, within the hospital and/or affiliated medical
facilities.

HOURS OF WORK:
48 hours weekly

REQUIREMENTS:

4.2
Qualifications or Relevant Experience:
4.1.1
Graduate from a recognized medical university.
4.1.2
Saudi Board of equivalent higher qualification
Surgery/Urology/Vascular or Endocrine surgery.
in
General
Experience:
4.2.1 Specialised professional experience in General Surgery post specialty
qualification for a minimum of two (2) years in a recognized centre or,
4.2.2 some specialized post qualification experience in General Surgery
(Category C and D hospitals).
4.3
4.2.3 Certification in Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
Personal Qualities:
4.3.1 Self-motivated and with awareness of current trends in the field.
4.3.2
High standard of professionalism as per peer testimonials.
4.3.3
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
