Alberta.
We presently have 23 medical oncologists who are site specific and program oriented, working in

hematological malignancies.
The care of patients is provided in well established multidisciplinary settings. As well there are
active and well developed clinical and translational research programs in which the candidate will
be encouraged to participate and potentially lead. Opportunities for collaboration exist internally,
with colleagues in the Division of Hematology, and with academics within the university or
externally.
The successful candidate will have an appointment at the appropriate level in the Faculty of
Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta. The Department of Oncology consists of more
than one hundred members and has seven divisions: Experimental Oncology, Medical Oncology,
Medical Physics, Palliative Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Oncological Imaging and Surgical
Oncology.
Our Experimental Oncology division includes 16 investigators and graduate and post graduate
training programs with an emphasis on translational research. We have a 40,000 ft 2 research
wing with multi-user facilities that include flow cytometry, confocal and video imaging microscopy,
