3rd Announcement (July 2003) 3rd International Conference on Positive Psychotherapy & th 4 International Training Seminar 30 September – 5 October 2003 - Varna, Bulgaria ***** 4th International Training Seminar “State-of-the-art in Positive Psychotherapy” Experiences, projects and innovations– in science, training and treatment 30 September – 3 October 2003 Varna, Bulgaria In autumn 2003, the International Center of Positive Psychotherapy (ICPP) organizes its International Training Seminar on Positive Psychotherapy as in every year. We expect around 100 participants this year, so there will be three groups: Group 1: Train-the-Trainer-Seminar (English-speaking): Only for experienced psychotherapists from all over the world, already trained in Positive Psychotherapy. They like to share and gain experiences. We expect around 30-40 participants from different countries. The lecturers and trainers will be the participants themselves. Please send us the subjects you would like to present. Each participant should prepare, at least, one presentation and should come prepared to the seminar. The presentation should consist of a 20-minute-lecture or a workshop (90 min). There will be around 10 presentations. Suggested topics: - supervision - new approaches and techniques of Positive Psychotherapy based on own experiences - application of Positive Psychotherapy in the non-therapeutic field - psychotherapy in hospitals with in-patients (Dr. Arno Remmers) - exchange with other methods and schools, such as psychotraumatology etc. Call for Papers for Group 1: Experienced colleagues from the Centers of Positive Psychotherapy are encouraged to share their experiences in the three main fields science, training and treatment. They are asked to give 20-30 minute lectures, and to conduct 90 minutes workshops on their theme) . There will be around 10 blocks each of 90 minutes. All presentations will be in English and will have visual presentations by overhead-projector or beamer. Deadline for submissions: 5 September 2003 Please send your abstract (one page) by email to the ICPP Secretariat at: icpp@positum.org Group 2: Seminar for postgraduates in training (German-speaking): Physicians, psychologists and pedagogues, currently in postgraduate training at the Wiesbaden Academy of Psychotherapy, in order to be psychotherapists. Around 40-50 participants expected. The trainers will be mainly the international participants of group 1, namely experienced psychotherapists and trainers from other countries, who will share their rich experiences. We encourage the participants of group 1 to give a short presentation of their lecture which they prepared for group 1 in this group (a “lighter” version). There will be short lectures with workshops or discussion. The main topic will be the application of Positive Psychotherapy in different countries and different spheres of life. For the German postgraduate students the further development of Positive Psychotherapy and its international application will of great interest. There will be some subgroups for the non-therapeutic German participants, such as management etc. Group 3: Seminar for postgraduates in training (Bulgarian speaking): Psychotherapists currently in postgraduate training at Training Centers for PPT in Bulgaria. 20-30 participants. The trainers will be mainly the experienced trainers of the Wiesbaden Academy of Psychotherapy from Germany. They will introduce different subjects coverning some points of the curricula for postgraduate psychotherapeutic training. All three seminars consists of theory, self-discovery, and some supervision.
