The primary focus of the project is the analysis of genetic factors and mechanisms in human longevity using high-throughput technologies. The candidate will work with state-of-the-art next generation sequencing data (genome, exome, transcriptome) and will apply/develop/compare bioinformatics analysis algorithms for the functional assessment of genetic variation (including SNPs and structural variants). The research project will be conducted in very close collaboration with the Institute of Medical Informatics and Statistics (Prof. Krawczak). We offer an excellent multidisciplinary team-oriented research environment.
