capital letters, speech marks, ? or ! as I am writing.
I can write sentences using a wide range of subordinating
conjunctions (because, although, since, if, as, after, before, when
etc). I use adverbial phrases to add detail for the reader and
sometimes use non-finite clauses to start a sentence. I punctuate at
least 75% of my sentences correctly, as I am writing, with capital
letters, full stops, ?, !, speech marks and commas to separate clauses.
I can write using complex sentences (including non-finite clauses)
confidently and investigate how I can manipulate sentences to create
different effects. I punctuate at least 90% of my sentences
correctly with capital letters, full stops, ?, !, speech marks and
commas to separate clauses.
Year 6
We are practising writing and punctuating sentences.
