Resources for the Instructor Internet Resources There are thousands of Internet sites of interest to instructors. The following sites were selected because of the broad scope of information they offer. All of them contain excellent hypertext links for additional information. At the time of publication, all these sites were working. Internet addresses sometimes change, however. In most cases, if you use the old address, a link will appear that connects you to the new address. If this happens, make sure to write the new address down or bookmark it in your browser. Some sites are not available on all servers. The company was started to provide continuing education programs for unlicensed assistive caregivers at a reasonable cost. Mark Hartman has spent his entire career in educational publishing. He developed and published many widely recognized textbooks for nursing assistants and health occupations. The continuing education programs are written for CNAs and home health assistants by health care professionals and educators. Each continuing education program is organized by competency-based learning objectives. Assessments and procedure checklists measure the participant’s knowledge and abilities. The programs include copyright permission to make as many copies of the handouts as necessary at a single location. Transparency masters enhance the presentation and provide a professional touch. Games and activities are used to make learning fun. Special forms are provided to make recordkeeping easier, and cut-out postcards let you send away for free teaching materials, brochures, and posters. Each in-service is provided in a sourcebook. Only one copy of the sourcebook is needed to teach as many participants as you have at your site. Videotapes are also available. For information, contact: Hartman Publishing Inc. 8529A Indian school Road Albuquerque, NM 87122 Phone: 505-291-1274 Fax: 505-291-1284 http://www.hartmanonline.com Email: help@hartmanonline.com Continuing Education Videos Terra Nova films has been distributing videos about aging-related issues since 1981. The beauty of these films is that they deal with psychosocial aspects involving the caregiver and the individuals they care for. The videos are very sensitive and do not invade privacy, yet touch real issues that we, as caregivers, deal with on a daily basis. The videos provide information and answers to questions that are not covered in procedure- and techniqueoriented videos. For more information about these unique continuing education videos, contact Terra Nova Films 9848 South Winchester Avenue Chicago, IL 60643 Telephone: 800-779-8491; 773-881-8491 Fax: 773-881-3368 http://www.terranova.org Email: tnf@terranova.org Additional Sources of Information 1.
