2011 FALL CLASS SCHEDULE
REGISTRATION BEGINS IMMEDIATELY Classes are open to
students 18 and over. Classes are limited to a maximum of 10 people,
and a minimum of 6 people. Classes can fill up quickly. Come in or call
with a credit card to sign up. If you find that something prevents you
from taking a class that you have paid for let us know as soon as
possible and we will make an effort to re-fill your space. If we are
successful, we will refund your payment. Students receive a discount on
stained glass & supplies purchased for the duration of the class. Students
may make up missed classes on Saturdays, space permitting. Students
must wear closed toe shoes and long pants whenever working in the
studio.
9/06/11 ADVANCED BEGINNER STAINED GLASS through
10/25/11. TUESDAY nights from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. for 8 weeks. A
skill building class to improve skills and work habits. Be prepared to try
new methods and techniques. Students are to choose a project that will
challenge them, but not overwhelm them, and submit it to teacher for
approval. Some examples of projects are panel lamps, simple Tiffany
lamps, or learning the Lead Came method of stained glass. Class is
$125.00; Call studio at 262-3551 for a tool list of tools need.
9/08/11 BEGINNER STAINED GLASS through 10/27/11.
THURSDAY nights from 7:00 to 9:00 pm for 8 weeks. A detailed
class teaching all the skills necessary to craft stained glass in the copper
foil method. Class is $125.00; tool kit is $165.00 to our students (or see
tool list). Expect to spend $25.00 (more or less) for glass for project and
for copper foil. Students create a 10” by 16” panel to take home at the
end of class. See studio for pattern choices.
9/24/11 GLASS FUSING through 10/22/11 SATURDAY afternoons from
1:30 to 4:00 pm for 4 weeks, 2.5 hours per class. Glass plus heat equals
creativity! Learn how to fuse, slump, layer, and decorate glass to make vases,
plates, jewelry or special effects to use in stained glass. Students create 3
projects each class as a way to learn the different aspects of fusing glass.
Students must already know how to cut glass. Students must bring a glass
cutter, breaker/ grozers, running pliers, marker, and a ruler. All materials
provided. Class is $200.00
10/29/11 STAINED GLASS MOSAICS thru 11/19/11 SATURDAY
afternoons from 1:30 to 3:30pm for 4 weeks, Learn to craft mosaics using
stained glass. Two styles & two methods covered. Class is $85.00; see tool list
for tools needed. Students create a tabletop (purchased) or a stepping-stone,
often from scrap glass. Great for gifts! Glass cutting skills required. Students
need to bring a glass cutter, breaker/grozers, running pliers, a marker and a
ruler. See studio for molds for stepping stones, project choices, pattern
approval.
11/01/11 "DECORATIVES" through 11/22/11 TUESDAY nights from
7:00 to 9:00 pm for 4 weeks NEW CLASS! Learn how to embellish stained
glass works with wire, foil overlay, brass stampings, filigree, and use things
like nuggets, agate slices, and crystals. AND Learn the technique used to
make soldered jewelry. Students must already know how to cut glass.
Students must bring their stained glass tools, materials all included. Class is
$100.00
