Dream House

The purpose of this assignment is to use Japanese to describe your dream house: explaining
what you want and giving a tour of the house.
1. Use www.homestyler.com/designer to create a floorplan of your house. Print it out and
label it.
2. Write at least 5 sentences. Describing your house (You will need to speak 10, so you may
write 10 if you wish) Try to use as much of the new vocabulary as possible and vary your
sentence structure. Double space your sentences and include an English translation.
3. Practice talking about your dream house, using the 5 sentences you wrote and improvising
others. You can write single words down to prompt yourself, but not whole sentences.
Evaluation:
10 points (Grammar) – A colorful and well-labeled floorplan. (Extra for kanji use!)
10 points (Writing) – 5 sentences written correctly on a piece of lined paper with English
translation. Use as much vocabulary as possible (including old vocabulary).
10 points (Speaking) – orally describe your house from memory.
