1 Feb. 1973 to June 1986 has worked as Scientist (Genetic Toxicologist) in
Centro di Genetica Evoluzionistica of the National Research Council
(C.N.R.) c/o University of Rome.
He was awarded a fellowship of the CNR for one year (1974) to spend in
Uppsala, Sweden, working with Prof.B.A. Kihlman at the Department of
Genetics, Royal Accademy of Science.
He was awarded an EMBO fellowship in 1978 to work with Prof. A.T.
Natarajan in the Department of Radiation Genetics and Mutagenesis,
Leiden University, Leiden, The Netherlands.
From 1986 Full professor of Genetics in the University of Tuscia (Viterbo)
Italy, Faculty of Biological Sciences.
During the past 35 years of activity, Prof. Palitti has gained a wide experience in the fields of Radiogenetics and Genetic Toxicology. He has mainly been involved on the molecular mechanisms of induction of
chromosomal aberrations and SCE's. He has more than 100 papers published in international journals.
He has taken part and he is taking part in several Projects coordinated by the European Economic Communities, by the International Atomic Energy
Agency , Spaziale Italiana and Philip Morris External Research Program.
He is on the Editorial Board of "Mutation Research"and he frequently asked to act as referee for several scientific journals in the field of his expertise.
