Dr Chen currently leads a research team in infrastructure management with six researchers. He has been working for over 15 years on the performance assessment of civil infrastructure, in particular stochastic deterioration modelling and reliability analysis. Dr Chen is the PI of over 10 research projects related to adaptation to changing environments, structural health monitoring, predictive deterioration modelling, and life cycle analysis and management. Dr Chen is the author of over 100 journal and conference papers, and has around 10 years’ experience in UK civil engineering industry as a Chartered Civil Engineer.
