Early Years Initial Teacher Training (Early Years ITT) Post Graduate Certificate: Early Years Education in Practice Graduate Entry-employment Based, Part Time Progression Route APPLICATION FORM Please note this programme starts every September and is taught at our Canterbury campus. Please complete this application form if you are a Graduate new to the early years sector applying to undertake Early Years ITT through an employment based route. The Application Form will be the basis of our computer record and records held by your University, Department/Faculty and Tutor. The earlier we receive your application, the sooner you will be offered an interview. Please note that this pathway has limited funded places. REFERENCES You must include with this application TWO signed references on headed notepaper recommending you for the programme. The references should be from parties who can verify your suitability to work with young children successfully. Referees should provide within the letter their name, address, job title and relationship to you. Employer Learning Support Agreement As part of the application a) You must ask your employer to compete section five of this application form agreeing for you to undertake the academic and placement requirements of the programme. b) If you are the Employer of the Early Years setting you will need to sign to agree that you will adhere to the academic, financial and placement requirements of the programme. QUALIFICATIONS All entrants to early years teaching in England are required to have a UK degree or equivalent qualification. Those entering graduate Early Years ITT programmes need to have attained a degree-level qualification before they commence the programme. In addition to a UK degree or equivalent entrants are also required to have GCSEs (or equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics and Science at grade C or above. All entrants beginning Early Years ITT will need to have passed the national professional skills tests prior to entry.
