Based on your child’s recent reading assessment performances, he/she has
qualified for reading intervention assistance. We believe that he/she will benefit from
the assistance provided. The need for continued reading service will be determined
through an on-going assessment process. Your child’s reading progress will be
monitored by the reading specialist on a regular basis.
The Westlake Reading Intervention Program is a locally funded reading
initiative that emphasizes early intervention and is grounded in best instructional
practices for reading intervention. The Reading Specialists plan closely with
classroom teachers to review, reinforce, and supplement Ohio’s Academic Content
Standards in reading.
There will be opportunities to attend Family Literacy Meetings and
Parent/Teacher Conferences. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
