Brand Activation Intern Overview The Muskoka Roastery Coffee Company is located in Huntsville, Ontario. Our mission is to handcraft the best coffee, and celebrate and protect the natural splendour of Muskoka. We are embarking on a program of business growth, including geographic expansion, and need to hire an individual who will enter as a Brand Activation Intern with a view to transitioning to a management position with the company. This full-time position is partially funded by FedNor’s Northern Ontario Development Program and is based in Huntsville. This individual will be expected to lead all aspects of our Ontario-wide Brand Activation program. This program includes consumer shows/events, community events and store demonstrations. Leadership entails planning/scheduling, logistics, staffing, execution and post event analysis. The primary goal of the Brand Activation program is to elevate brand awareness and purchase intent to fuel our business growth. The successful candidate will meet the specific criteria required by the FedNor Intern program including being a recent graduate with a certificate, degree or diploma. Responsibilities Assume, over time, full leadership responsibility for all Brand Activation events and demonstrations. Create an annual master plan, aligned to the brand-building criteria, that makes optimal use of the available budget. Select events based on a thorough evaluation of business building potential. Prepare logistical plan for each event including staffing. Serve as a primary liaison with vendors/customers on all event-related matters. Be the primary on-site leader for all major events. Lead the teams manning events and demonstrations, ensuring that all staff follow best practices. Work seamlessly with other members of the MRCC team, to continuously improve Brand Activation programs and processes. Qualifications Graduate with a degree or diploma from a post secondary institution within the last three years. Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading and speaking. Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments with a variety of staff and volunteers. Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism. Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision. Excellent leadership and team motivation skills. Proficient use of the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Other Requirements Under the age of 30 years and legally entitled to work in Canada. Has not been previously employed under a FedNor Youth Internship funding agreement or other federal or provincial internship with pay for a period of six months or more. The work week can span all seven days, with many major events running over weekends and evenings. A high level of flexibility is required to meet the work demands while booking planned time off.
