Class: Spanish IB
Objective: Students will be able to conjugate –ar verbs in the
present tense for all subject pronouns . Students will review
rules for conjugating verbs, and cooperatively work with
manipulatives which include: subject pronoun, stems of verb,
and verb ending. Students will arrange manipulatives so that
they create basic sentences in Spanish. Students will chart the
sentence on a graphic organizer, and translate the sentence
meaning.

Materials: manipulatives, graphic organizers
Follow-up: turn in graphic organizer for a daily grade
Objective: Students will be able to read, listen to, and
understand information about the classroom and where objects
are located. Students will take notes over classroom vocabulary
and practice writing sentences describing where items are
located in our Spanish class using prepositions.
LOTEL 1.1.01 Engage in conversation and class discussions to
show comprehension of spoken and written language, including
literature, on a variety of topics

aloud in chorus and individually

Materials: Notes, graphic organizers for sentences
Follow-up: Students will create dialogues quizzing each other
over where items are located in the classroom
Objective: students will review vocabulary and take notes over
the verb estar. Students will be able to listen to the realidades
c.d. and understand where items are located within the
classroom in Spanish using prepositions. Students will take a
comprehension quiz, and begin on “donde esta paquito” project
where they will write simple sentences describing the possible
hiding places of a mouse in the classroom using prepositions.
LOTEL 1.1.07 Comprehend and or respond to short messages
and conversations when listening to peers, familiar adults, and
providers of public services in face-to-face telephone
interactions on everyday topics

Materials: Realidades C.D. , vocabulary, estar notes,
comprehension quiz, project rubric
Follow-up: Paquito projects are due and will be presented to
the class on Friday

Objective: Students will complete their “Donde Esta Paquito”
rough draft which must be checked by the teachr before
proceeding to the final brochure. Students will be given time in
class to complete brochure and practice saying sentences in
preparation for class presentations.

Materials: Brochure paper, vocabulary, rough draft sentences
Follow-up: Presentations in class Friday
Objective: Students will play warm-up game “Mata La mosca”
identifying sentences in Spanish when the teachers calls them
out. Students will be given additional time to work on
brochures, and then will present their brochures to the class.
The last part of class, students will receive copies of the
magazine “que Tal” and we will read out loud in Spanish
various articles to practice pronunciation and comprehension.
Materials: brochure, mata la mosca powerpoint and fly
swatters, que tal magazine
Follow-up: Students will turn in their donde esta paquito
brochures
