MAYOR PRAISES WORK OF POLICE DEPARTMENT
AFTER BOY IS FOUND SAFE IN WASHINGTON
WOONSOCKET – Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt today praised the professionalism
of the Woonsocket Police Department after 6-year-old Daniel Britt was found safe in
Washington State after an Amber Alert had been issued.
“It is a testament to the great work of Police Chief Thomas Carey and all the fine
men and women of the Woonsocket Police Department who dedicated their resources to
assist in the search for Daniel,” said Mayor Baldelli-Hunt. “They shared all the
information they had obtained and they coordinated with numerous agencies around the
country to make certain that this story had a happy ending. We are all relieved in the
City of Woonsocket that Daniel is safe and unharmed.”
Mayor Baldelli-Hunt praised the work of Chief Carey, Public Safety Director
Eugene Jalette and all the detectives and department members who gathered the
information and worked with various authorities before the Rhode Island State Police
issued the Amber Alert.
“The safe return of Daniel Britt shows that we have one of the finest police
departments in the state and in our nation,” Mayor Baldelli-Hunt concluded.
