Procedure
1. The OCS standard applies to products that contain 5 -100% Organic Material(s).
2. As per the OCS, it is required certified organizations, brands and retailers to
obtain the logo use approved by the certification body prior to use on products
or on marketing materials.
3. Along with this Registration form, please send an example of the OCS Label
using the OCS Standard
The example of the label must contain;
1) The relevant logo (OCS 100 or OCS blended)
2) Correct terminology

OCS 100:
a. “Made with/Contains 100% Organically Grown Material”: only for
products that contain 100% Organic Material. The OCS 100 logo may be
used.
b. “Made with/Contains Organically Grown Material” for products that
contain 95% or more Organic Material, as long as the remaining
content is not of the same type as the Organic Material. The OCS
100 logo may be used.

OCS blended:
a. “Made with/Contains X% Organically Grown Material” for products
that contain 5-95% Organic Material. There are no restrictions on
the remaining content. The OCS Blended logo may be used.
‘X’ must represent the final percentage of Organic Material by appropriate unit of measure
in the finished product; ‘Material’ refers to the actual organic input (eg: cotton, coconut).
*Note that the OCS can be applied to individual components of a product, as long as they are
each certified to the standard
3) Certified by Control Union or CU)
4) CU client number (“CU xxxxxx”).
5) Component must be specified when the claim only for a specific
component.
4. Complete and sign this Registration form and send to your respective certifier
or email to: certifications@controlunion.com
5. The label assessment is done on the basis of one example (artwork), but it
may be applicable to all products on your scope certificate. Incomplete
registration forms or registration forms without examples will not be
processed.
6. The label assessment result will be communicated to the contact person by
email mentioned at the top of this form.
7. The verification of correct logo use is done by the CU auditor during the OCS
audit.
8. By signing this Registration you agree to be invoiced by Control Union for
€50.- (this is an administration fee for CU).
9. Keep proof of the use as a record in the administrative offices of your
company for the auditor to check this form.

Terms and Conditions
Fees
 € 50.- administration costs per Certificate Holder.
 this is one time administration fee for CU unless certification continues or
requirements of logo use changes.
 OCS Logo use fees are not refundable under any circumstances.
Ownership
 The Textile Exchange (TE) has developed and is continuously revising the
Organic Content Standard (OCS) and is its sole owner.
 The OCS picture-mark, also represented as “OCS logo” or “OCS label”, is
copyright material and is a registered trademark owned by the TE.
 The use of the OCS picture-mark is regulated and governed by the TE;
unauthorised use of this copyright material is prohibited and may lead to legal
action.
 Processors, manufacturers and traders of OCS goods that hold a valid OCS
scope certificate by Control Union Certifications (CUC) are considered a
Certificate Holder.
 The TE has approved CUC as certification body (Approved Certifier) thereby
granting the CUC the right to sub-licence the use of the OCS picture mark to
Certificate Holders.
Obligations of the Certificate Holder
 The Certificate Holder is entitled and obliged to use the OCS picture mark in
accordance with the Standards of the TE together with the CU Inspection
regulation. The Certificate Holder is obliged to inform CUC immediately and
truthfully on any changes concerning the identification data of the Certificate
Holder and certification status of suppliers, subcontractors, production sites
and certified customers.
 The Certificate Holder shall indemnify and hold harmless CUC, the TE and its
representatives and members from and against all claims including product
liability, losses, damages and expenses arising out of this Registration and the
use of the OCS and or the OCS picture-mark.
Information transmitted
 The Certificate Holder entitles CUC to transmit to the TE the following
information on facilities and/or operators inspected and/or certified on behalf
of the Certificate Holder:
- Company name
- address
- production-category
- product-information
- product quantities.
 The Certificate Holder entitles the TE to enter the afore-mentioned information
into a public data-base accessible to third parties.
Termination and duration
 CUC retains the possibility to withdraw this sub-licence with immediate effect
(suspension) if there are reasons to believe that any of the terms of this
Registration, the OCS Standard of the TE or the OCS-requirements are not
being adhered to.
 The Certificate Holder makes known to CUC without delay any unauthorised
use of the OCS picture-mark that it gains knowledge about, including but not
limited to any unauthorised use of the OCS picture-mark by its direct and/or
indirect customers and buyers. Failing to do this may have consequences for
the certification status of the Certificate Holder.

Either party may terminate this OCS Logo use Registration with three months
prior notice in writing.
Should the TE withdraw or otherwise discontinue the approval of CUC and
should a withdrawal of the approval of CUC not be revoked, Control Union
Certifications will inform the Certificate Holder without delay. In this case, CUC
is entitled to transfer its rights and obligations under this Registration to
another approved certification body.
This Registration enters into force when it has been signed by the legal
representative of the Certificate Holder and the logo user has paid the sublicence fees based on an invoice issued by CUC.
Undersigned declares to have completed this OCS logo use Registration
truthfully, and will comply with the requirements and conditions of use
as set out in this Registration as well as in the applicable version of the
Standard issued by Textile Exchange
