This is attended by Obstetrician, Physician, Named Midwife and specialist nurses (diabetes) Across Forth Valley, Midwifery teams provide clinics to all GP surgeries. Within the 13 areas, Midwives share clinics with their named GP’s and provide a midwife led clinic in parallel to these. Booking clinics are all Midwife led in Forth Valley. This is replicated in the hospital clinic environment at all sessions There are 2 genetics clinics per month in Forth Valley – one in Falkirk and the other in Stirling. This is linked to Glasgow. Genetic Liaison Midwives manage the service One in Alloa 1 in Alloa and 1 in Corton Vale prison which has a weekly midwife-led clinic All outpatient services are provided on both Falkirk and Stirling sites: In Falkirk there are 4 antenatal hospital clinic sessions per week and the same in Stirling There is a dedicated Daycare service provided in both Falkirk and Stirling Units. These areas are staffed by experienced Midwives, the majority of whom have undertaken training in ultrasound. These services are provided 5 days a week MondayFriday on both sites. Care is mainly protocol driven and midwife-led. There is access to Registrar / Obstetric consultant throughout the duration of these sessions. Outwith these hours daycare is accessed by the Midwifery Teams on duty 2 Early pregnancy assessment unit service? If yes, how many sessions per week? 10 In Falkirk, the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit service is provided in a dedicated area in the mornings of Monday to Friday (5 sessions). Access to this service is strictly protocol / criteria driven for GPs / Midwives. Midwives and Radiographers provide the scans in Falkirk. Care is multidisciplinary, evidence based and protocol driven.
