White metal such as refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners will only be accepted without charge if they have been “red tagged” to indicate that their freon has been legally removed. If the freon has not been removed, a fee of $15.00 must be paid at Town Office before the item may be picked up at curbside. Refrigerators and freezers must have their doors removed before they may be picked up. Stickers will be provided to place on each item. Items without stickers will not be picked up. 2. 3. 4. 5. Copper and brass Steel and iron Aluminum Wood products: Please ensure these are separated as follows: 6. Untreated unpainted wood – only minimal metal, i.e. nails are OK. All else must be removed. 7. Painted and/or pressure treated wood. 8. Furniture & Mattresses, construction debris and plastic materials 9. Tires: Tires must be removed from rims prior to disposal. A fee of $2.00 must be paid at the town office for each tire size 13”15”. For tires that are 16” to 20” the fee is $6.00 and the fee for tires larger than 20” is $12.00. Stickers will be provided to place on each tire. Tires without stickers will not be picked up. Only 8 tires allowed per household. 10. Propane Tanks Empty propane tanks will be picked up during the bulky household waste pickup at no cost if they have been punctured. 11. Universal Waste: Examples of Universal Wastes: Computers, TVs, batteries (metal hydride, Ni-Cad, small sealed lead acid, lithium, mercuric and silver oxide button batteries), mercury switches and devices, PCB ballasts, which are usually, found in old fluorescent lighting fixtures. PLEASE SEPARATE ALL ITEMS INTO PILES. DO NOT MIX. KEEP SEPARATE FROM WEEKLY GARBAGE AND RECYCLABLES If you are remodeling or are a contractor: Please rent a dumpster for demo material. Household Hazardous Wastes These materials are not accepted at curbside nor may you put them out with your household waste for collection.
