R. TROY NIELSEN As co-founder, chief executive officer and president, Troy Nielsen has led Heritage Safe Company, a licensee of Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation, to become one of the largest residential safe manufacturers in the industry. Mr. Nielsen is responsible for all executive decisions regarding the day-to-day operations of Heritage Safe Company. Since the company’s inception, Mr. Nielsen has earned numerous awards and has contributed to the economic growth of Heritage’s home town, Grace, Idaho Over the past 10 years, Mr. Nielsen has built Heritage Safe from the ground into a multimillion dollar company. Prior to founding Heritage, Mr. Nielsen worked as a mechanical engineer for Masland Industries in Pennsylvania. Mr. Nielsen has been recognized for his entrepreneurial success by the Governor’s Task Force on Rural Development in Boise, Idaho. In addition, he was nominated as a delegate to the 2000 Congressional Small Business Summit, in Washington D.C. Under Mr. Nielsen’s leadership Heritage was named as 2000 Region 5 Small Business of the Year by the Idaho Small Business Development Center and the City of Grace Business of the Year. Mr. Nielsen received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University.
