2016 ISAA Breeder Agreement
We are beginning the process of updating the ISAA breeder/stud dog listings for next year.
To renew your breeder listing, please review the following pages of the breeder agreement,
check the appropriate lines, sign and return by email or regular mail. Please return the
agreement by December 15th to ensure your listing is updated January 1st.
New applications to become an ISAA breeder will be approved and posted after all of the
required information is received, usually within two weeks. We need a picture of the dog and
copies of hip and eye tests or be able to access them electronically.
Litter listing links to breeder web pages will still be moved from planned to future to current
depending on whether the litter is planned, mated (future) or the litter has arrived (current).
There is no requirement that the stud dog owner be an ISAA member. The breeder and
owner of the dam, however, must be an ISAA member and approved breeder to list a litter.
ISAA members may list a litter using the ISAA litter listing form

breeders’ corner and on the puppy page. Please follow the step-by-step-litter listing process
as described there to list litters. Breeders are required to purchase a one year membership
for any new puppy owner they sell to in the United States. If the new puppy owner is already
a member, the membership will be added to the existing membership. If the new owner is a
lifetime member or if the new owner does not become a member, the money will be donated
to rescue in your name.
ISAA breeders who are renewing their listings: Please complete pages 2 and 3. If you are
adding a dog, please complete the information on page 4 regarding that dog and if a dog is
being retired, please advise us of that fact. Prospective/New ISAA breeders: Please
complete pages 2 and 4.

2016 ISAA Breeder Agreement
Please check off each requirement as it applies to you.
Each of these requirements must be agreed to or met to become an ISAA approved breeder.
1.
I have reviewed and agree to abide by the ISAA Breeding Guidelines.

2.
I will follow the rules and regulations of my parent club and national kennel club. For a list
of official ISD parent clubs click here http://www.icelanddogs.com/Links.html. Note: Since
Canada does not currently have a CKC recognized parent club for the ISD, Canadian
members would follow CKC regulations.
3.
I agree to participate in any study designated as a “special health related study” (i.e.
cataract grant/study) when asked by the BRCC/ISAA. If I request reimbursement for incurred
testing expense for a designated special study, ISAA will pay that expense.
4.
(USA and Canadian breeders only) I agree to provide the BRCC with litter information
within 5 months of whelping as well as for past litters. I will advise BRCC of any litters my
stud dog has sired or any litters with leased bitches if they are not bred to a dog owned by an
ISAA breeder, including # of puppies, names etc for inclusion in the IS pedigree database.

5.
I agree that I will purchase ISAA membership for any puppies sold to USA residents at the
time of sale.
6.
The BRCC is aware of all ISDs I own or co-own. If not, that information is included as an
attachment to this application. I agree to keep the BRCC updated on owner changes and
health issues.
7.
I understand that I can be removed from the website at any time at the discretion of BRCC
for failure to comply with these agreements, which also includes the use of the ISAA Approved
Breeder logo.
8.
(For USA CHIC Breeders Only) I understand that to retain the CHIC designation on my
breeder listing, all of my listed dogs must have completed CHIC certification within six months
of their listing.
9.
I understand that only dogs/bitches two years of age and older will be listed.
10.
Should anyone, at any time, become unable or unwilling to keep an Icelandic Sheepdog
sold or placed by me, I will take that dog back and/or help to find that dog a suitable home.
11.
All health and other requirements will be met for leased bitches as if I am the owner,
although the litter and dog will not be listed unless the owner is an approved breeder.
12.
I have reviewed the entries for my dogs in the IS-Pedigree database or the link in their
breeder/stud listing and will notify BRCC of any additions/corrections needed regarding the
pedigree, litters (breeding info link) or health information (pedigree w/o links link).
