MPEG Multimedia Ecosystem 2013 International MPEG Workshop and Exhibition Day 2013 24-25 April, 2013, Songdo Convensia, Korea http://wg11.sc29.org/mpeg-awareness Call for Participation The purpose of MPEG Multimedia Ecosystem 2013 is to present and demonstrate recent MPEG technologies in the areas of augmented reality, sensors and actuators for multi-sensorial experiences, physical object recognition and online collaboration, embedded in new standards elaborated by MPEG in the last two years. The event includes consideration of business aspects by showing how MPEG technologies can be used to build multimedia ecosystems. To enable multi-sensorial, immersive and engaging user experiences, products, applications and services to be considered at the event require more than the well-established audio-video MPEG standards: MPEG-V and MPEG-A for augmented reality services and products, Compact Descriptors for Visual Search (CDVS) for key visual search technologies, Green MPEG for energy-efficient media technologies, MPEG User Description (MPEG-UD) for user customized services, MPEG-M for multimedia service platform technologies, and MPEG-U for advanced user interface technologies. The MPEG Multimedia Ecosystem day is particularly targeted to business developers of products and application for immersive user experience, content creators, broadcasters, multimedia device manufacturers, sensor & actuator manufacturers, virtual worlds and online game developers, and generally persons interested in new opportunities in digital media.
