4/2000 – 1/2002
One Inc., Santa Monica, CA
Senior Business Analyst
 Facilitated parts of Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions for Hilton Hotels’ room revenue forecasting
Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence system project (Microsoft SQL Server based)
 Wrote the most critical section (the requirements section) of a proposal that won a two-million dollar contract to
build a room revenue management DW / BI system for Hilton Hotels. This was the largest contract ever won by
the One, Inc. Santa Monica location. A manager from Hilton Hotels advised me that the main reason they selected
One, Inc. as a vendor was due to my superb analysis of their requirements in the proposal.
 Significant SQL Server data analysis experience (especially QA and data quality issues resolution).
 Became a Certified Function Point Specialist and immediately provided my very first function point count driven
estimate for the benefit of Hilton Hotels on their project to implement a room revenue forecasting Data Warehouse
/ Business Intelligence system.
 Mentored three other Business Analysts on various projects.
 Saved a struggling project to develop a staffing firm’s online job posting site by joining the project team mid-way
through the life cycle and documenting requirements for the developers to get them past the point of being stuck
on what should be coded.
 Named the nationwide employee of the month after my efforts were major factors in closing the deal to win the
Hilton Hotels contract.
NewEnergy, Los Angeles, CA
Programmer/Analyst
5/1999 – 4/2000
 SQL Server database administrator for NewEnergy’s electric usage billing system.

multiple electric utility sources into a target SQL Server database.
 Coded and implemented a defect-free interface to a Wells Fargo banking system (to post NewEnergy's accounts
payable details to the company's checking account at Wells Fargo Bank) in Visual Basic.
 Coded and implemented a defect-free payment processing system in Visual Basic and SQL Server under an
extremely tight deadline of one month. It is worth mentioning that I had never used Visual Basic or SQL Server
before in my life. I am a fast learner.
 Provided 24/7 support and emergency fixes for an error-prone and unstable customer billing system (which
another team developed). In this role, I always did whatever it took to get critical customer bills out the door, even
when the system failed.
5/1997 – 5/1999
Southern California Edison, Covina, CA
Systems Analyst
 QA database analysis and resolution of data quality issues related to customer service and billing data.
 Appointed as the lead Systems Analyst for some of SCE's most important customer service functions, especially
the system function that establishes electric service for customers and sets-up their billing accounts.
 Rated as the top student (in a class of approximately 12 students) in Edison's Information Technology training
program for COBOL, DB2, and SQL. I was selected by my peers in class to act as the Project Lead to organize
and assemble our final class project to develop a small payroll system.
 Appointed to lead usability testing of Edison's customer service system.
 Performed approximately six months of integration and system testing (including both test planning and test
execution).
 Awarded bonuses for three separate implementations of the iteratively-released customer service system; each
bonus was to recognize me for going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure project success.

Automated Data Processing, Diamond Bar, CA
Technical Support Specialist
8/1995 – 5/1997
 Provided technical support to a team of around twelve account representatives who were providing unemployment
insurance management services to ADP clients. This support role included mentoring the representatives on how
to best perform their work, and also in distributing work to them and ensuring the work was done by the due dates.
 Recognized for improving the quality of the company’s letter generation system for responding to unemployment
claim inquiries in the state of California. I classified unemployment cases by the reasons the claimant’s
employment had ended to arrive at a series of separation patterns. I then incorporated the decisions from
California Administrative Law Judges into ADP’s series of letter templates, and matched the edited templates to
the separation patterns I had defined. Following these changes, letter writing work by account representatives was
essentially cut in half, compared to how long it took to write letters before my improvements.
 Recognized by Accountants Overload (an ADP client) in the form of a letter of praise to my manager for
providing exceptional support to that client.
 Devised a system of distributing work among employees that more appropriately routed tasks to the people who
had the skills that most closely matched those tasks. For example, low-level data entry was assigned to the lowest
skilled workers in the team, while difficult client calls (e.g., to deliver bad news) were assigned to skilled
communicators. Before my system of work distribution was adapted, every person had received the same type of
work, regardless of that person’s skills, strengths, or weaknesses. Productivity completely turned-around within a
month. My team went from previously finishing tasks on the due date to finishing tasks up to three days before
they were actually due.
