Agrometeorological Advisories
Livestock :
1. Light rainfall is expected from 06.06.2015 to 10.06.2015
2. High humidity along with high temperature causes more stress to the animals, to
reduce this stress provide adequate ventilation in the animal shed.
3. Due to increase in day temperature animals should not be allowed for grazing during
hot part of the day, provide cool drinking water and shade to the animals to reduce
heat stress.
4. During day time farmers are advised to sprinkle water to high yielding dairy cows 2
or 3 time to reduce heat stress.
5. High yielding cows should be fed with good quality concentrate and roughage by
incorporating leguminous fodder/hay.
6. Feeders should be raised in poultry shed between 10 am to 5 pm to avoid heat stroke.
7. In poultry shed water tank and water lines may be covered with gunny bags to
provide cool drinking water during hot part of the day.
Agriculture :
Imp.Crops: Rice, Sugarcane and sesame
Rice at harvesting stage.
1. In the sugarcane crops spray potash and urea each at 2.5% level during moisture stress
(water shortage) period at 15days interval

the prevailing hot weather condition. To control this, spray Quinolphos 25 EC at 400
ml/acre or Neem oil 2%.
3. Stem borer incidence is noticed in paddy crop. Hence farmers are advised to spray any one
of the following Monocrotophos 36 SL 1000ml/ha (or) Quinalphos 25 EC1000 ml/ha (or)
Phosphamidon 40 SL 600 ml/ha (or) Profenophos 50 EC 1000 ml/ha.
