Lewis and Clark: Corps of Discovery 2015 Assignment Overview You will be creating a top-secret file to send back to Washington DC for President Thomas Jefferson. The file will contain important documents and materials about your discoveries in the newly explored Louisiana Territory. Below are the important material contained in your packet: a. Your finished product will have of 4 different items: i. An enveloped labeled top secret and address to President Jefferson, ii. Nature sketch with notations or a map of the explored territory (choose one) iii. (10) Different information cards with a paragraph and photo (or image). iv. One reference cited card with at least 3 different sources used. b. Your work should be historically accurate reflecting research. c. Summaries should be typed and in paragraph form (5-7 sentences) posted on 5 x 8 note cards. d. Each card should be classified into one of the five categories. (See below) e. The photos on each card should be clear, colorful, and use color matting. 1. Labeled 8 x 10 Envelope – Label and Decorate your envelope to make it look like an authentic envelope. The envelope should be addressed to President Jefferson and also include your name, class period, and date. 2.
