Measurements to be made during cool-down, November 2004-09-21 1. 2. 3. 4. Scans at different temperatures as the equipment cools down Scan with current in solenoid between 9.3K and 7.2K (i.e. before lead goes s/c) Scan with current in solenoid below 7.2K (i.e. after lead goes s/c) Scans with different currents in trimcoils below 7.2K (to find optimum trimcoil current) 5. Disconnect and move fluxgates to monitor the effect of this on the SQUIDs 6. Measure responses to perturbations from (a) a local coil in the lab, (b) a distant coil outside (if detectable) 7. Scans (to take in extremes of magnetometer travel) while the lead is warming up, to establish whether the step changes in the field are localised to particular z-values.
