It is a dog.” sentence pattern and a few words. 2. Students are very active. 3. Have seen pictures and heard about those animals in several other story books, but not been asked to memorized those vocabulary. Teaching aids Power point, Word Cards, Web site. Pictures for color. Activity Warm up 1. Greeting: (Put pictures or stuffed toys of :rabbit, giraffe, lion, tiger, elephant, monkey, horse, goat on the blackboard before class.) 2. Do you like these animals? ( Students: Yes/No.) 3. Have you seen them in the books? (Students: Yes/No.) In the zoos? (Students: Yes/No.) Teaching aids Time Pictures. 2mins. Presentation Activities: 1. Which one do you like? This one, elephant? (Teacher points to the picture of elephant.) ( Students: Yes/No.) 2. Good, elephant. “I can see an elephant.” 3. Post the word card under the picture of elephant and ask the students to do the etter-sound corresponding practice for the word elephant. 4. Spell this word elephant and say loudly “ I can see an elephant.” in chorus. Word cards and pictures. 15 3. Practice several times on picture-word corresponding, then remove the pictures one at a time until all the pictures have disappeared. Practice Activities: 1. Every student has all these pictures and words cards. 2. Ask one student as the director.
