If a picture is not received by this date, we cannot guarantee that it will be included in the Leader. SATURDAY, MARCH 20 – District Literary Rally at Louisiana Tech for selected students SATURDAY, MARCH 20 – RHS Junior/Senior Prom THE WEEKS OF MARCH 23 & APRIL 12 – Spring Testing (Seniors are exempt from tests, but must come to classes in the afternoons; special schedule will be in place during testing) MARCH 29 – APRIL 5 – Spring Break and Easter Holidays APRIL 10 – ACT WEDNESDAY, APRIL 7, 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. -- Mr. Curt Joiner has set this day to deliver graduation supplies to RHS. The balance of your deposit must be paid by this time to receive your order. Payment should be made with cash or money order. You must have a cap, gown, tassel, and diploma cover to participate in the graduation ceremony. If you plan to use a cap and gown from last year, you must check with Mrs. Tatum to make sure that it is the right shade of red. Each year’s orders come from a different dye lot and may or may not match this year’s color. Mrs. Tatum must check to be sure that the cap fits your head and the gown is the appropriate length. If you are wearing a cap and gown from a prior year, a diploma cover and a 2010 tassel must still be ordered. Call Mr. Joiner at Graduates Sales at 318-865-0409. Failure to submit this information will result in it not being recognized at the graduation ceremony or in the program. Seniors are exempt from the final test in a subject if the student has maintained an A average in that subject for the year. SENIORS: DO NOT RETURN TO THE RHS CAMPUS AFTER YOU COMPLETE YOUR FINALS UNLESS YOU HAVE SPECIFIC BUSINESS HERE, SUCH AS PAYING A DEBT OR WORKING ON SPEECHES. If you do return to campus for any reason, you must check in through the office. GRADUATION REHEARSAL MONDAY, MAY 26 - 3:00 P.M. Rehearsal for Graduation at the Thomas Assembly Center. Honor Graduates should report at 2:00 P.M. All Senior Band and Choir members should be there at 2:30 P.M. All other seniors will report at 3:00 P.M. Be on time. The length of the rehearsal depends on you and your cooperation. All school debts must be taken care of prior to rehearsal. You will not march in graduation exercises if you owe a debt to the school. If you wish to have your picture taken by a professional photographer as you receive your diploma, please return the picture envelope at rehearsal. You will be given this envelope before you take finals. If you wish to purchase a video tape copy of the graduation ceremony, please return the form and money at rehearsal. You will be given this information before you take finals. Seniors will receive their report cards and forms to designate where final transcripts are to be sent. Graduation rehearsal is mandatory. If, for some very good reason, you are unable to attend graduation rehearsal, you must see the principal and have your absence excused if you plan to march. If your absence is not excused, your name will be removed from the march line-up list. GRADUATION TUESDAY, MAY 27 - 6:15 P.M. Line-up for the Graduation ceremony at 6:15 P.M. at the Thomas Assembly Center. You will receive more important information about this at rehearsal. The ceremony begins promptly at 7:00 P.M. Be on time. Take all candid pictures at home. Only graduates will be allowed on the "playing floor level" during line-up. Guests will not be allowed on the playing floor level during the graduation ceremony to take pictures. Dress for graduation: Guys need to wear a white shirt and tie, dark slacks (no jeans or shorts), dark shoes (no athletic shoes, tennis shoes, or sandals), and remove earrings. Girls need to wear a dress (no shorts) and preferably white or beige shoes (no athletic shoes, tennis shoes, or flip flops). Graduates need to leave all cell phones and cameras at home or with a family member. As a show of respect and dignity for the occasion, NO GUM CHEWING! According to Lincoln Parish School Board policy, "Each student shall be specifically prohibited from being under the influence of, bringing on, consuming, or having in his possession on school premises, any alcoholic beverages. Any student found in violation of the above shall be suspended and recommended for expulsion by the principal." Also according to Louisiana state law, "Students found in violation of the above shall face mandatory jail sentence." Any student found in violation of this policy will not be allowed to march at graduation. Students are not officially graduated until they receive their diploma from Mrs. White after the ceremony.
