SIMS METAL WASTE TO ART TERMS & CONDITIONS: The Forbes Waste to Art and design Community Art Exhibition and Competition is open to all Forbes Shire Council residents, whether you are an artist, student or a community member. Anyone is welcome to apply. All artwork in each category must demonstrate the re-use and recycling of waste. Entrants will be notified of competition results by mail/telephone, as well as in a presentation night on the week of the exhibition. The results of the competition will be announced to local media. All entrants grant permission to the organisers to publish &/or broadcast the names and photographs of the finalists and the winners through print and electronic media. Judges and their immediate families are not eligible to enter. ALL ARTWORK MUST: Be accompanied by both an entry form and a works setup form. These can be found from www.forbes.nsw.gov.au. Without these forms the artwork is not eligible for entry into the competition or display. Not exceed a size limit: 2 dimensional – 2x2 metres & 3 dimensional – 2x2x2metres Not exceed a weight limit of 40kgs. Be exhibition ready. If the artwork is to be hung a hanging system must be included (it can be very simple). No display material will be provided apart from a desk. These materials will be handed back to entrants when works are collected at the end of the exhibition. All artwork must be delivered to Forbes Town Hall on Monday 11 May between 12:00pm and 5:00pm, and collected from Forbes Town Hall on Monday 18 May between 11:00am and 4:00pm. The organisers will take all reasonable care in handling and dealing with works submitted, however the organisers will not be responsible for any loss or damage incurred to any of the artworks or materials. Annual Theme Waste 2014/15 is The Year of Scrap Metal The best piece based on a scrap metal theme wins this category. Village Pride Award - The best work from each village is awarded. Bedgerebong Garema Ootha Warroo Wirrinya Winners of the Village Pride Awards will not be eligible to enter into the regional Waste to Art Competition. *For the purpose of this competition a Professional Artist is defined as an individual who may not necessarily have formal art education but exhibits in solo or group exhibitions.
