RESULT OF PAINTING CONTEST
FOR CAMBODIAN UNIVERSITY/COLLEGE STUDENTS
With reference to the painting contest for Cambodian university and college students
to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between
Thailand and Cambodia organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in cooperation with the
Cambodian authorities concerned in April and May 2005, the Royal Thai Embassy wishes
to announce the result of the contest as follows:
1. Judges comprise of A) Cambodian Side H.E. Mr Nouth Narang, Secretary of
State, Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, Mr. Sous Sodavy,
Deputy Director of Plastic Arts and Handicraft, Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, and Mr.
Soeung Vannara, Lecturer of Painting, Royal University of Fine Arts B) Thai Side H.E. Dr.
Tej Bunnag, Co-Chairman of Thailand-Cambodia Joint Commission on Promotion of
Cultural Cooperation, Mr. Nuttavudh Photisaro, Charge d’ Affaires a.i., Royal Thai
Embassy, and Mr. Parinya Tantisuk, Lecturer, Silpakorn University.
2.Entries Thirty-three (33) entries were sent in. Twenty-one (21) entries are in oil
colour and twelve (12) entries are in water colour.
3.Winners of oil colour paintings
a. First Prize: USD400.- and a trip to Bangkok : Mr. Khvay Somnang, Royal
University of Fine Arts
b. Second Prize: USD200.- and a trip to Bangkok : Mr. Nhem Sopaul, Plastic
Arts School
c. Third Prize: USD100.- : Mr. Kang Pich, Entaractevy High School and
Royal University of Fine and Arts (private class)
4.Winners of water colour paintings
a. First Prize: USD200.- and a trip to Bangkok: Mr. Sa Veasna, Royal
University of Fine Arts
b. Second Prize: USD200.- : Mr. Kang Pich, Entaractevy High School and
Royal University of Fine and Arts (private class)
c. Third Prize: USD100.- : None
5.Award presentation will take place on 25 May 2005 at 10.30 hrs. at the Royal Thai
Embassy.
