Girl 2: My name is Suimbike. I’m a wife of Tatar chan. This town is Kazan. B.: I have heard that Kazan has a unique history, because it was invaded and destroyed in 1552. It was a capital of independent Kazan Chanity before. Despite of all this drama it is one of the most beautiful cities of the world. Tatars celebrated the 1000th anniversary in 2005. G.: I know one legend. It says that Suiumbike was a tatar queen, who climbed on the top of the Tower and jumped down to protest against the invaders. Now Suiumbike Tower is a real symbol of Kazan. S.: Oh, no! I don’t want to die! B.: Let’s go with us! We’ll show you new Kazan and speak about our republic. It is a highly developed industrial country now. Слайд : нефтяные вышки G.: Oil is our black gold. It is very expensive and since 1943 Tatarstan is being extracted oil and sold it to other countries. B.: Kamaz trucks are well-known in all over the world, they win prizes at international car competitions. Слайд: город Нижнекамск G.: Chemical industry is mainly developed in the eastern part in Nizhnekamsk. S.: I don’t know about this city. G.: It is one of the youngest cities in our republic. But it’s “Nizhnekamskneftechim” is among the 30 leading enterprises of the world in the production of synthetic rubber. B.: Agriculture is a traditional branch of economy; its history goes back to ancient times. As a rule it includes crops and vegetables producing, stockbreading and there are many small and middle factories producing food: dairy products, bread, meat, sweets, sugar. S.: I want to see Kazan with own eyes! (Звучит музыка, дети перемещаются в настоящее) Слайд: вид Казани G.: Kazan is situated on the picturesque banks of the Volga and the Kazanka rivers. “City of Wonder”, “Capital of the East” – this is what visitors wrote about the city as they arrived to find pointers towers and minarets, beautiful buildings of palaces. Слайд: Кремль B.: (показывая на Кремль) Do you recognize this building? S.: Yes. It is the Kremlin. B.: The Kremlin is the uniq old building combined with the contemporary architecture. The English traveller Tenkinson wrote in his memeries in 1558: “Kazan is a beautiful city, built in the Russian and Tatar style, with a strong castle, standing on a high hill” На слайде – улица Баумана. S.: What a nice street! B.: Bauman Street is the most popular place for leisure. There are many cafes, restaurants, cinemas, shops, department stores in it. You will not fail to notice the small fountain with the figure of the amasy holding a golden comb – the mermaid heroine of Tatar fairy tales immortalized by G. Tukai. На слайде: золотая карета Екатерины Великой G.: Also there are many theatres, squares, parks, museums in our city. For example, the State Museum of the Folk Lore History and Economy of Tatarstan. Its many remarkable exhibits include the gilded carriage in which Empress Catharine II traveled to Kazan in 1767. На слайде: площадь Свободы B.: Kazan is famous for its parks and squares. Once there was a public garden on the area of the theatre square which now is Freedom Square. In its place stands the M.Jalil opera and Ballet theatre, which has Tatar, Russian and western European ballet and opera classics in its repertory? G.: Kremlyovskaya Street is one of those places which offer a magnificent view of a city. The street and the square are one of the oldest in the city. На слайде: КГУ B.: Kazan is an educational centre. There are many schools, institutes, colleges, universities. In 1804 one of the oldest Universities of Russia was founded in Kazan. The lives of many outstanding people were connected with it. Among them Lobachevsky, Butlerov and Bekhterev. E.Murnerelli in his book “Kazan and its inhabitants” wrote: “Kazan is the only city in the world which has a university”. G.: Kazan is an industrial centre too. There are many plants and factories: Kazan opto – mechanical plant, which produce military instruments, binoculars, spectrographs, microscopes, photocopiers, eyeglasses, hunting gun sights and so on. B.: Kazan Compressor Plant produces centrifugal compressors, the equipment for high power metallurgical plants. G.: Medical instrumental plant, production association “Melita”, “Spartak”,”Hiton” B.: And there are many the latest achievements in our economical life. Big projects have been realized: international airport “Kazan”, the 14 km bridge over the Kama, airplanes TU -214, TU – 324, helicopters “Ansat” and “Aktai”, the Kazan subway and petrochemical processing in Nizhnekamsk. G.:”Basket – Hall” is a public leisure centre, which has been built during the past years. It is the biggest and modern centre. Here you can play basketball and then relax in the small cafes after physical trainings. S.: It’s a pity. I cannot live without my family, my friends, my people. I like to wear these decorated boots, ichigs, the gold- embroidered women’s kalfaks and many other fashinable dresses. You don’t dressed such beautiful as we. I must go back. B.: But at last, let’s sing together. Oh, my language, native language You’re my soul and my heart. Many things I’ve learnt in this life. Through this language, through by blood.
