GPA Calculation and Academic Goal Projection Worksheet
You must have very accurate information to project your GPA. Print a copy of your
transcript from Central Pipeline.
Part I: This Semester’s Projection
1. List your current courses in column 1.
2. Write a projection (letter grade) for each
class and put it in column 2.
3. List the number of credits for each course
in column 3.
4. Put the points for each grade in column 4
(see the points chart).
5. Multiply the points times the credits into
column 5 (column 3 X column 4 = column
5)
6. Add all the credits in column 3 and put the
sum next to “Credits =” in line 6.
7. Add all the Quality Points in line 5 and put
the sum next to “Quality Points =” in line
6.
8. Divide the Quality Points in line 6 by the
Credits in line 6. This is your projected
semester GPA.

Part II: Cumulative Projection
1. Fill in your overall attempted hours in the
space next to “Credits +” in line 7.
2. Fill in your overall quality points in the
space next to “Quality Points +” in line 7.
3. Subtotal the amount of credits from line 6
and 7 on line 8.
4. Subtotal the amount of quality points from
line 6 and 7 on line 8.
5. If you are NOT repeating courses, divide
the quality points by credits on line 8 for
projected cum GPA.

Part III. If you are repeating courses (this semester only), continue with these steps:
6. List the total number of credits you are repeating this semester in the credit space on line 9.
7. List the total of quality point of all grades (other than F) from courses you are repeating this
semester in the point area in line 9. (For each class – multiply the points from the chart
below X the credits you earned for the course – add all together.)
8. Subtract the numbers on line 9 (if any) from the numbers on line 8; List them on line 10.
Divide the quality points on line 10 by the total credits on line 10. This is your projected
cumulative GPA.
