Glossary of photographic terms
These are some photographic terms used in The Panorama Factory. We intend that these terms be used with their
conventional meaning.
Be sure you have good translations of these terms before beginning to translate the string table. Please contact
support@panoramafactory.com if you need clarification of an English term or a references that can help explain the
term.

35mm camera noun

35mm equivalent focal length noun

a way to describe the focal length of a camera by stating the focal length of a 35mm camera that produces the same
field of view
APS camera noun

Advanced Photo System camera having a different film size and therefore different field of view from a
35mm camera for the same focal length
barrel distortion noun

a type of image distortion in a rectilinear projection where scale increases with increasing distance from the center
of the image.
brightness falloff noun
Vignettatura
a gradual reduction in image brightness with increasing distance from the center of the image.

compatible with their conventional meaning, but in some cases they are used in a more specialized or otherwise
idiosyncratic way. The meanings of these terms are listed to help you choose appropriate translations.
