We are happy to inform you that the Indian National Confederation and Academy of
Anthropologists (INCAA); under the auspices of the Department of Anthropology,
University of Lucknow; and in collaboration with the Ethnographic and Folk Culture
Society and Indian Academy of Anthropological Research and Training, will organize the
Inter-Congress in Anthropology : 2012 during February 21 – 23, 2012 at Lucknow.
As you are aware, Department of Anthropology, University of Lucknow is one of the
oldest Departments of Anthropology in the country, directly associated with the name of
a towering personality in Indian Anthropology : Late Professor D. N. Majumdar who
founded and cultivated the Department all through his professional career.
The Focal Theme chosen for deliberations during the Inter-Congress is Contested
Identities in the Globalized World. A copy of the write up on the Focal Theme is
attached. All anthropologists are most cordially invited to attend the Inter-Congress.
Abstracts of papers (not exceeding 500 words) from the prospective participants should
reach the undersigned , with copies to the Member-Secretary, INCAA by October 24,
2011. The last date of receipt of full paper is December 24, 2011.
All registered delegates contributing publishable papers on the said Focal Theme will be
entitled to certain privileges, details of which could be obtained from the General
Information supplied along or from the Secretariat of the Indian National Confederation
