Estimates of materials to be ordered and the cost not including the sewing costs are given
below.
1. 10 yards of nice lace for the bride and the groom with colors blue, green, and
yellow combinations for reception attire change. This may cost around $300.
2. Head tie for the bride to go with the reception lace and Head cap for the groom to
go with the reception lace in (1) above.
3. 15 yards lace for parents of the bride for the reception with colors white, sky blue
combination. This may cost around $450. Note that the father of the bride wants
also the danshiki. Thus, the extra 5 yards is for danshiki.
4. 10 yards of nice English-like lace for the mother of the bride’s long gown for
Mass and the father of the bride with colors of dark green and orange color
combination. This may cost around $400 for the two pieces.
5. Gold colored head tie for the mother of the bride. May cost $30.
6. 6 yards of George (Intorica under $50) for the bride for the traditional marriage
ceremony. The color is burgundi.
7. Gold blouse for the bride for the traditional marriage ceremony (1 and ½ yards)
costing around $100.
8. 6 yards of George (intorica under $50) for the groom the same as #6 for the
traditional marriage ceremony.
9. Ashebi head tie for ladies (friends of the mother of the bride) about 50 with each
costing around $20.
10. Ashebi gown for young people (friends of the bride) to be sewn to their fancy,
elegant, modern, simple design of their choice involving two shades of materials
such as ankara and satin combination. The Ankara material should have red with
gold and possibly other colors like green. We picked one sample in the store that
had pink and Rose would find a similar sample that has Red color. Each 6 yards
of Ankara would cost around $35. Each young person’s attire would need 3 yards
of Ankara and may be 3 yards of satin/cotton bought by the tailor. The satin can
be colors like red, green, gold, any other. Possible styles are a straight satin gown
with an Ankara fancy top, a gown with satin at the top and Ankara with fancy
gather bottom half, a gown with satin gown and Ankara bold wide cola and cape
and belt and hands. The designs can be reversed such that the gown is Ankara
and the cape is satin. There could also be straight design with only Ankara.
Roughly each young person’s attire would still be around $35 without sewing cost
yet. We can estimate for about 20 friends of the bride including the 5 bridesmaids,
maid of honor, flower girls, others.
11. Ashebi head tie for young people (small scarf looking more like a fancy hat)
about $10 or less each.
