At St John’s Ben Rhydding
To get you in to the mood for Christmas and to help you celebrate the season we
would like to invite you to come to one or more of our Christmas celebrations.
Some will be loud, some quiet. Some will have a traditional feel, some will take
a modern slant on things. We at St. John's hope that there will be something at
our Church that will help you have a blessed Christmas time. If we don't see
you we would like to wish you a merry Christmas and may the new year find
you peaceful and content.

Winter Wonderland Christmas Show Led by the children from the Wright Theatre Arts Dance Academy, an afternoon of free
entertainment for older housebound members of the community.

Dec 12th 10 – 11am
Family Nativity – In the context of our usual family service we will be exploring the story of the
first Christmas.
Dec 18th (Saturday)
Advent Meditation Day – the church will be set up with helpful resources and activities to
enable people find some quiet and reflection in the hustle and bustle of the pre-Christmas
period
Dec 19th 6.30 – 7.30pm
Carol Service – a reflective candle-lit
Service with readings and carols
Dec 24th 4 – 5pm
Christingle Service –
Oranges, candles, sweets, carols and the good news of Christmas for all the Family. An
opportunity also to give a Christmas gift to The Children’s Society. Very popular – come
early.
Dec 24th 11pm – 12.30am
Midnight Communion Service – Traditional Communion Service to welcome in our Saviour’s
Birthday
Dec 25th—Christmas Day
8 – 8.45am Holy Communion - Using the 1662 Book of Common Prayer as we celebrate
Christmas as it has been done in Church for hundreds of years.
10 - 11.15am Family Communion Service. - A service of two parts. A half hour family-style
celebration of Christmas followed, for those who wish to stay, by the sharing of communion.
Dec 26th 10-11am
Carols and Cakes
An Informal service with a cup of coffee or tea and some cake in the Church Hall.
