This story could be used in a number of ways:


It could be a source of knowledge about King John and his reign, and it
could lead to an understanding of his relationship with his barons.
It could also form the basis of an enquiry into the reasons for Magna
Carta in 1215, or into the existence of Robin Hood and Maid Marion.
Given that this story suggests that King John was ‘bad’, it could be used,
in conjunction with textbooks and other historical sources, as an
interpretations activity into the reign of King John. Was he really so
bad?
