A Miss America Preliminary

Dear Potential Sponsors and Contributors:
I am the Executive Director of the Miss Macon Scholarship Association. We are a nonprofit organization
that helps young women obtain scholarships to further their education. We hold the Miss Macon and the
Miss Macon’s Outstanding Teen pageant in the same evening. By winning this competition, the young
women go on to compete at the Miss Georgia and Miss Georgia’s Outstanding Teen pageants held in
Columbus in June. If they are fortunate enough to win there, they will represent Georgia in Miss America
and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageants. The Miss America organization (MAO) is the largest
leading scholarship provider for young women in the world. Since we are nonprofit, we look to the
community for support and sponsorship of awards and scholarships. This is a wonderful civic
organization.
The competition is open to any young woman in the state who meets eligibility requirements. Having been
involved with the Miss America Organization since 1990, I cannot stress the importance of this
association and the vital role it plays in making a difference in the lives of young women. In giving back,
these women volunteer hours of service to their communities aiding so many worthy causes. Specifically,
Miss America has partnered with The Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). Through volunteerism, the Miss
America Organization helps raise thousands of dollars in support of CMN. Our last competition brought
11 contestants who helped raise $1000 for CMN.
Our goal is to raise $10,000. If you are a business and would like to offer your support in the form of a
monetary donation, gift certificates to our winners or contributing an item for the silent auction please

For those of you who may want to donate gift certificates to our winners, we will be crowning 2 winners

Miss America
Developed by the Miss America Organization, the Miss America program exists to
provide personal and professional opportunities for young women and to promote their
voices in culture, politics and the community. The program provides a forum for today's
young women to express their viewpoints, talents and accomplishments to audiences
during the telecast and to the public-at-large during the ensuing year. Almost all
contestants have either received, or are in the process of earning, college or postgraduate
degrees and utilize Miss America scholarship grants to further their educations.

To become Miss America, a contestant must first win a local competition and then
compete to represent her state, a process requiring personal commitment, hard work and
talent. A woman may compete at the state level more than once, but may only compete in
the national Miss America competition one time. More than twelve thousand women
participate each year in the local and state events, culminating in the selection of 52
national finalists who vie for the Miss America title.

Tens of thousands of volunteers organize the local and state preliminary competitions,
promoting community involvement throughout the United States and furthering
scholarship and achievement among young women in their communities.

The Miss Macon Scholarship Competition is a stepping-stone to the Miss America Pageant. This
organization is the largest leading scholarship provider for young women in the world. We are a
not-for-profit organization that exists through the generosity of others. Every year young women
volunteer hours of their time toward bettering their communities aiding so many worthy causes.
