Frequently asked questions Q - Why can't I put bottles or glass out for collection? A - Because if any glass is broken or breaks it will contaminate the other recyclable material which cannot then be recycled and will become worthless. Q - Will this change cost me more? A - No: This is an interim scheme and during this phase of the Waste Strategy any increased costs are being met by the States of Guernsey. Q - Surely that means money from my taxes? A - Not quite: The money the States will use to meet any increased costs will come from a surcharge which has been levied on waste dumped at Mont Cuet. Q - What happens if I don't use the correct refuse sack of bin-bag? A - Your waste will not be collected. Q - What happens if I include bottles, jars or glass in any of my waste? A - Your waste will not be collected. Q- What happens if I forget to put out my recyclables? A - You can still take them to the bring banks. Full details are on the website www.forestparish.org.gg
