Abstract:

The Subfamily : Epinephelinae , represent one of the most important families in the Egyptian sector of The Rd Sea

Epinepheline or grouper are abundant , valuable and economical fish food. The present work has been suggested due to the rarity of biological , population dynamics , stick assessment and fisheries studied with respect to three

Epinepheline species . Cephalophots argus , Cephalopholis miniate and Variola louri from the Red Sea at Al- Quseir south of Hurghada by 140 Km , Egypt The present work is a part of a project executed in Assiut University to study the biology and fisheries of the Red Sea fishes, so more advanced techniques and statistical methods were considered to answer a lot of important questions . The

Results of the present work can be summarized in the

following points : 1- Intification of the stocks of C. argus , C miniata and Loiti by : a-Scale characteristic b. Morphometrics and Meristics a- The scale characteristics of the three

Epinepheline species considered were studied in the term of morphometry and Scanning electron Microscopic techniques

A wide spectrum of size free inter specific scale surface characters of the afore – mentioned species included the overall from of the scales and their morph metrics , the distribution of circuli , radil and granulation from of circuli , radii number , shape of interradial tongues and the first circuli delimiting them, form of inteeadial denticles and the rostrolateral circuli and their grooves and denticles. Also, the scale characteristics of the three Epinephelinae species considered were discussed in term of their functions,The lateral line canal on the scales of these species was unique and was represented by pores constructed by two adjacent scales at their anterior rostral field. These findings were discussed with respect to those of other teleost fishes. b.Morphometrics and meristics, the types of allometry (i.e isometry, negative allometry and positive allometry) of the morphometrics and meristic traditional as well as truss characters in terms of size and shape were determined.
