Media Release 9th February 2013 Actress Carol Cleveland will be in QUAD, Derby, to introduce A Liar’s Autobiography as part of a season of Monty Python films in March QUAD in Derby will be screening a short season of Monty Python films in March entitled ‘The Circus Is Back In Town!’ to coincide with the release of the not quite Python, not quite biopic film A Liar’s Autobiography. The season includes a pair of Monty Python classics: Monty Python And The Holy Grail and Monty Python’s Life Of Brian, which is screening on Good Friday. Actress Carol Cleveland will be in QUAD for a Q&A and to introduce a screening of A Liar’s Autobiography. Carol probably best known for filling the female roles that didn’t require a Python in drag. She will discuss the new film and her time working with the Circus. A Liar’s Autobiography: The Untrue Story Of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman is an animated feature based on the novel of the same name by Graham Chapman, Prior to his death in 1989, Graham Chapman had recorded himself reading from the book and these recordings have ingeniously been used to provide Chapman's voice in the film alongside fellow Pythons John Cleese, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam, who play themselves and other characters. Not a documentary, not a Monty Python film, 'A Liar's Autobiography' is Chapman's own take on his bizarre life and his search for self-knowledge. A Liar’s Autobiography: The Untrue Story Of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman screens in QUAD from Friday 1st until Thursday 7th March. Carol Cleveland will be in QUAD prior to the screening on Saturday 2nd March at 6:30pm. In Monty Python And The Holy Grail, King Arthur and his loyal knights of the round table embark on a quest to find the Holy Grail. A plot worthy of a historical epic but in the hands of the Pythons it becomes very silly indeed. A comedy classic featuring characters like, Sir Lancelot the Brave, Sir Galahad the Pure and Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-As-Sir Lancelot. Monty Python And The Holy Grail (15) screens at QUAD on Tuesday 12th and Thursday 14th March. Monty Python’s Life Of Brian is a biblical satire is as funny today as it was in 1979. Brian is a Jew born in a stable in Bethlehem who spends most of his life being mistaken for the Messiah. But as we all know “He’s not the Messiah, He’s A Very Naughty Boy!” Fully endorsed by the People’s Front Of Judea, Monty Python’s Life Of Brian (15) screens at QUAD on Friday 29th March at 6:20pm.
