See reverse side for additional instructions and information. ➱ 1FOREIGN LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: This requirement may be satisfied in three ways: (a) by taking six credits at the intermediate-level or above in Spanish, French, Italian, or German; (b) by taking six credits at the elementary level of a non-western European language such as, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, or Russian; or (c) by taking six credits of immersion courses in any language followed by a university-sponsored intercultural travel experience. Incoming students who have not had the equivalent of six credits of Spanish, French, Italian, or German as determined by a proficiency exam or who wish to start a new foreign language, must take six credits of elementary foreign language as a prerequisite to the core foreign language requirements. Elementary foreign language courses may be used as free electives. International students requiring three or four English as a Second Language (ESL) courses may use the highest two courses to satisfy the language requirement or as free electives. Language credits will not be awarded for a student’s native language. ➱ 2MATHEMATICS REQUIREMENTS: A higher-level math course may be taken in place of MATH 1101 if the student is adequately prepared for such a course. ➱ 3LABORATORY SCIENCE/TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS: An appropriate laboratory science in astronomy, biology, chemistry, geology, or physics or a technology course may be taken. ➱ 4These courses are classified as graduate psychology electives. Any graduate psychology courses may be taken. ➱ GENERAL NOTE: The College Core Requirements (70 credits) should normally be completed in the first two years. A minimum of 128 credits is required for graduation. An additional 48 credits are required for the graduate degree.
