Forty-five percent of the staff possess their Masters Degrees or equivalent. Class rank is based on the students GPA (grade point average). This average is obtained by multiplying the final average for a course by the credit value of the course. These products are added and then divided by the number of credits attempted. All courses, academic and non-academic, passed or failed, in grades nine through twelve are included in the GPA. When a student repeats a course because of a failure or to raise a grade, both grades are used in the computation. All students are ranked with their own grade levels according to grade point average. WEIGHTED GRADES To encourage students to elect more challenging subjects, a weighted grade system exists. All Advanced Placement courses have 10 points added to the final grade when class rank is computed. All Honors courses have 5 points added to the final grade when class rank is computed. ADVANCED PLACEMENT Language and Compostion, Literature and Composition, Spanish Literature, Calculus, Biology, U.S. History, World History, Computer Sciene, Government and Politics, Chemistry, Environmental Science, 2D Art, Music Theory, Macroeconomics, Statistics, Humen Geography and Physics.
