Position Overview:
As a postdoctoral fellow in Process and Analytical Chemistry, you will work with a highly
collaborative team of scientists from mass spectrometry, analytical chemistry, and process
chemistry as well as scientists from other areas in Global Chemistry and Biologics. The
candidate will design and implement advanced and novel MS/MS methods on a state of art 9.4T
FT-ICR (Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance) MS system to advance structural
elucidation of both small organic molecules and large biomolecules (peptides, proteins, and
bioconjugates, etc…).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:




Evaluate current MS/MS (tandem mass spectrometry) capability for the structural
elucidation of small and large molecules across the MS network.
Develop novel MS and MSn methods and LC-MS/MS techniques on the FT-ICR system.
Mechanistic study on electron-based dissociation techniques.
Prepare and publish scientific results in high profile journals.
Education Minimum Requirement:

PhD with 3 years or less of postdoctoral experience or meet all the requirements for a
PhD by May 2016.
Required Experience and Skills:



Experience in MS instrumentation and method development, especially, on an FT-ICR
system.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications.
Preferred Experience and Skills:



Experience on the Bruker solariX FT-ICR MS system and electron-based dissociation
(ExD, ETD, etc…).
Hands on experience in protein sample preparation for MS analysis and biomolecule
characterization by FT-ICR MS.
Ability to write computer software for automated data interpretation.
