Routine Childhood Immunisations programme Each vaccination is given as a single injection into the muscle of the thigh or upper arm When to immunise Two (2) months old Three (3) months old Four (4) months old Twelve/Thirteen (1213) months old Three years(3) four months (4) to five (5) years Diseases Protected Against Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio and Hib (Haemophilus Influenzae Type B), Pneumococcal infection. Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio and Hib (Haemophilus Influenzae Type B), Meningitis C Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio and Hib (Haemophilus Influenzae Type B), Meningitis C, Pneumococcal infection Hib (Haemophilus Influenzae Type B), Meningitis C, MMR Dose 1 (measles, mumps and rubells) and PCV Diptheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), and polio. MMR Dose 2 Vaccine Given DTaP/IPV/Hib + PCV (Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine) These vaccinations are done by 2 injections DTaP/IPV/Hib + MenC These vaccinations are done by 2 injections DTaP/IPV/Hib + MenC + PCV These vaccinations are done by 3 injections Hib/MenC (combined injection) MMR + PCV These vaccinations are done by 3 injections DTaP/IPV+ MMR These vaccinations are done by 2 injections Please remember that Tetanus is included in the Primary Injections. This means that if your child is injured no further injection is needed dependent on severity of injury. Non-Routine Immunisations – Your Doctor will advise if this is necessary and inform you of where you should take your baby When to immunise At Birth to babies who are more like to come into contact with TB than the general population At Birth to babies whose mothers are Hepatitis B positive Diseases Protected Against Tuberculosis Vaccine Given BCG Hepatitis B Hep B If you have any concerns about child vaccinations please do not hesitate to speak to the Practice Nurses Clinics - every Monday 4-5pm and Thursday afternoons 1.30-3pm for immunisations The nurse will advise you when your child’s immunisations are due.
