Diploma Track:
The following course of study is based on graduation requirements, student’s interest and preferences and is directly
related to their post secondary goals:

English - 9th thru 12 grades; Supports employment post secondary goal
Math (include 10 units of Algebra 1 or 20 units of 2 year Algebra) - 9th and 10th grade; Supports employment post secondary goal
Physical Science - 9th grade; Supports training/education post secondary goal
Biological Science - 10th grade; Supports training/education post secondary goal
Modern World History - 10th grade; Supports training/education post secondary goal
U.S. History - 11th grade; Supports training/education post secondary goal

The following narrative is based on the student’s interests and preferences and is directly related to their post
secondary goals:
Student participates in on-campus vocational training, community based activities that include shopping and community
access/transportation training. The school based curriculum includes functional math, language arts, PE and
independent living skills. These activities will support student in developing the functional, academic and work skills to
support her in pursuing future supported vocational training/employment based on her interests in helping others and
participating in social settings. Activities also support student’s future goal of living independent of family.
18-22 yr. moderate to severe:
The following narrative is based on the student’s interests and preferences and is directly related to their post
secondary goals:
Student participates in a functional community based instructional program with curriculum that focuses on
independent living skills, community access and vocational training. The majority of her day is spent in the community
where she works on her IEP and post secondary goals which include community access and safety, increasing
communication skills, volunteering or working in the community and independent living skills. Student is very social and
enjoys being around a variety of people and participating in community activities. This functional community based
curriculum matches her needs and desires and is very motivating for her.
