Ensure compliance with applicable state regulations for childcare centers and mandatory reporting laws. 5. Communicate children’s ministry needs to ensure best practice and licensing standards. 6. Maintain children’s ministry staff/child ratios by adequate scheduling of staff and qualified volunteers. 7. Identify and communicate needs for volunteers to support the children’s ministry. 8. Ensure all medication procedures are followed. 9. Complete all records and reports required by the children’s ministry to support best practice and state licensing requirements. 10. Participate in staff meetings. 11. Participate in training and engage in regularly scheduled supervision. 12. Ensure implementation and compliance of organization’s policies and procedures with regular review and evaluation. 13. Provide data to supervisor for evaluation of children’s ministry outcomes. 14. Ensure all children’s ministry staff completes continuing education requirements according to licensing regulations. Direct Service: 1. Be available to children’s ministry staff, parents and children to address presenting needs, and keep parents and staff informed of progress on a regular basis. 2. Oversee the development of lesson plans and activities that are appropriate for the developmental stages of infants and preschool children. 3. Establish and implement school aged structured programs which include summer/days off/ and after school program and activities. 4. Assist as needed with the implementation of the infant and preschool program. 5. Conduct scheduled developmental assessments of participating children and subsequent reviews with parents. 6. Utilize sound judgment and interpersonal communication skills at all times when dealing with resident families. 7. Ensure privacy and confidentiality for both staff and residents at all times and in accordance with established Hope Alive policies and procedures. 8. Develop and maintain a positive learning environment for all children. 9. Implement appropriate discipline techniques according to Hope Alive, Inc.’s policies and procedures. 10. Assess and monitor the physical needs of the children (i.e., immunizations, health screenings, etc). 11. Collaborate with the Family Ministry Specialist regarding the developmental and physical needs of the children. 12. Assist with additional staffing needs for fundraisers, administrative duties and events as assigned. 13. Transport resident children and their families on outings utilizing Hope Alive Inc.’s vehicle. 14. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: 1. Must be 21 years of age. 2. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent or successfully completed at least two courses for credit from an accredited college or university. 3. Must have successfully completed 9 clock hours of approved pre-service training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public; and 3 semester hours or their equivalent of approved administrative training. 4. Have successfully completed 6 semester hours or 90 clock hours, or their equivalent, of approved pre-service training, or hold the Child Development Associate National Credential that is issued by the Council for Professional Recognition. 5. Must have at least 1 year of experience working with preschoolers in a licensed child care center, nursery school, church-operated school, or similar setting; or caring for preschoolers as a registered family child care provider. 6. Must have at least 1 year of experience working with infants in a supervised child development center or 2 years experience working with infants in a family day care setting. 7. 400 hours of experience working under supervision primarily with school age children in a licensed child care center, public or private school, or a similar setting; or 1 year experience caring for school age children as a registered family child care provider. 8.
