1. Basket is 10 feet high, 18 inches across.
2. Free throw line is 15 feet from basket.
-Alternating possessions...
In all jump ball situations, other than the start of the game taking the
start of the game, the ball is taken out-of-bounds for a throw in. Control
may also be established by the results of a violation or foul..
A. You have 5 seconds to put ball in play from out of bounds.
B. It is a violation for offensive team member to stay in the key (free
throw line) for 3 seconds or longer. Count stops when ball is shot or if
team loses possession.
C. The offensive team has 10 seconds to get the ball from back court to
front court
D. It is a violation for offensive team to take the ball into back court after
they have reached front court, “over and back.”
E. It is a violation to excessively swing arms or elbows though there is no
contact.
F. Screener must set screen one normal step from defensive man if set
from blind side. Person being screened must have enough room to react.
Person with the ball must assume he will be guarded. Moving blocks,
screens are illegal.

-FOULS…
A player shall not hold, push, charge, trip or impede the progress of an
opponent be extending arm, shoulder, hip or knee. If a player touches an
opponent's hand while on the ball, there is no foul.
1. When an offensive player commits a foul, the ball is taken out of
bounds by the opposing team. (Player control foul.)
2. Defensive players are to keep hands off their opponent's. Hand on
body or back is a foul.
3. When a player receives 5 personal fouls, the player must leave the
game.
4. One free throw is allowed a fouled shooter whose field goal was good.
5. Two free throws are allowed a fouled shooter whose field goal was
missed.
Three free throws are allowed a fouled shooting whose 3 point field goal
was missed.

A.10 seconds to shoot.
B. Lane spaces nearest to the basket - non-shooting team.

C. Next lane space - shooting team.
D. Next lane space - non-shooting team.
-After the shooter has the ball:
A. No changing positions.
B. Interference or yelling at shooter is a technical foul.
C. Shooter must stay behind free throw line until ball hits the rim or
backboard.
D. Violation by non-shooting team, shooting team is awarded another
shot if free throw is missed. Violation by shooting team, no basket.
E. Once the referee hands the ball to a foul shooter, players are not
allowed to enter or leave lane area.
-Technical fouls
1. Count as a personal foul and team foul.
2. Attempt to gain advantage by interfering with ball after goal or failing
to pass ball to official.
-Unsportsmanlike tactics:
1. Disrespect to official.
2. Profanity.
5. Two technical - player is banished from game.
6. When a technical foul is called, anybody on the other team may shoot.
7. a team must start a game with 5 players, and then can play with less.
8. Scorers duties include recording field goals, free throws, fouls, and
running score.
9. A player can't touch the net, rim, or ball while the ball is in the rim or
in the cylinder above the rim.
10. Traveling (taking 2 or more steps without dribbling) is a violation.
Moving or changing pivot foot is traveling.
11. Palming (carrying) the ball while dribbling is a violation.
