Thank you for your interest in the Conant Feeder basketball program. We would like to take the
time to invite your son to register for the Conant Feeder Program for the upcoming season. The
Conant Feeder Program is run by the World Class Basketball Association which has a National
reputation of preparing players for high school basketball. Over 95% of all players who have played
in our program have ended up on a high school varsity roster, many of which, played Sophomore
or Varsity as Freshman. You can get more background information by visiting our web site at:
www.worldclassbasketball.org
The following contains detailed information about the Conant Feeder Basketball Program.
CONANT FEEDER BASKETBALL
The Conant Feeder Basketball Program is designed for players that will be attending Conant High School
in the future and want to get prepared to play basketball at Conant High School. You must live in the
Conant High School District to be eligible for these teams. We currently have teams at the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th
and 8th grade levels.
CONANT FEEDER BASKETBALL PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophy is to teach the players the fundamentals and skills, both mentally and physically,
necessary to compete for a position on the Conant High School basketball team. Our number one concern
is to teach the players about basketball on and off the court. Winning is not a concern, nor is it stressed.
However, because of our strong coaching staff and what we teach, we are usually very competitive at all
levels.
CONANT FEEDER COACHING STAFF
The World Class Basketball Association – Conant Feeder takes great pride in our coaching staff. All of our
coaches are American Sports Education Program (ASEP) Certified, have high school coaching experience
and/or have played at the college level. You can get a complete listing of our coaches and their
backgrounds by visiting our web site at www.worldclassbasketball.org. For the upcoming season, the
coaches will be as follows:

7th Grade =

ROSTER AND TEAM SELECTION
The Conant Feeder Program will have teams at the 5th grade, 6th Grade, 7th Grade and 8th Grade levels.
For the upcoming 2015-2016 season, we will continue the open registration process. We will no longer be
conducting tryouts but accept players by an open registration process. What this means is that all players
who live in the Conant High School District can register and be a part of the Conant Feeder Basketball
Program. Please note that the first 11 players who register will be guaranteed roster spots. After that,
roster spots will only be guaranteed if we get enough player for multiple teams.
In terms of roster size. Each roster will consist of 10 to 11 players. The roster size will be determined by
the number of players we have registered. We will run each age level very similar to how the high school
runs their Freshman level. We will have an “A” team and a “B” team and players will be moved up and
down on a tournament by tournament basis based on their talent level, practice performance, game
perfomance, attendance and attitude.
Please note that we want players that have a desire to get better and to play Conant High School basketball
in the future. The Conant Feeder Program is not a recreation type league and is meant for the serious
player who wants to play Conant High School basketball in the future.
PLAYING TIME
We believe that the best way to teach our philosophy is by giving every player adequate playing time in
games. It is our goal to make this a rewarding experience for all involved. That being said, we also want
to start and prepare players for what it takes to be able to play at the high school level. Playing time will be
the coaches decision based on practice performance, game performance, knowledge of our system, work
ethic at home and attendance. It is very important that the players learn what it will take to play at the high
school level. If your son works hard in practice, works hard in games, knows the system, is working on
his game at home and attends all the practices, he will get a good amount of playing time. If there are
weaknesses in any of these areas, he will not play as much as others. We do guarantee that your son will
play in every game we play in but the amount of playing time is not guaranteed.
SEASON LENGTH
The Conant Feeder Basketball Program will run from the beginning of October thru the end of February.
Please note that all your Fall sport commitments should come before our feeder practices.
PRACTICE
During the season, all teams will practice one to two times a week. Our goal is to go twice a week as often
as possible. Most practices will be held at Conant High School but there might be some occasions where
we cannot get gym time at Conant and have to practice out of other gyms. We will make every possible
effort to keep practices at Conant as much as possible.
The other gyms we would practice out of include Harper College in Palatine, the Elk Grove Pavilion, the
Streamwood Community Center and Park Place Rec Center in Streamwood
GAMES & TOURNAMENTS
We believe that the best way to get better is by playing the best possible schedule we can but at the same
time not overwhelming the players. It is our philosophy that you get better by playing tough competition
rather than winning by 20 every game.
We guarantee each team will play 7 tournaments. We will also have occasional single games against other
feeder teams both at Conant HS and other teams gyms.
We do not play on the holiday weekends and all games will be within an hour or so of Conant High School.
Should you have any further questions about the schedule for each season, please contact Dan Krauser at
(815) 519-6042 or via e-mail at coachkrauser@worldclassbasketball.org .
THE ROLE OF CONANT H.S. IN THE CONANT FEEDER PROGRAM
There are many misconceptions when it comes to Feeder Basketball and the role that the high school plays
in it. It is an Illinois High School Association rule that no high school or any of its coaches can have
anything to do with a feeder program for any sport. Conant High School and all of its coaches and athletic
staff have no say in how the Conant Feeder Program is run and do not make any decisions when it comes to
the feeder program. They are aware of who is running the program but do not have a say in the program.
That being said, Coach Krauser played at Conant High School himself and we have taken the time to learn
the Conant High School Basketball System and everything we teach is a scaled down version of what you
will learn when you play basketball at Conant High School. It is my opinion that players that play in the
Conant Feeder Program have a big advantage over those who don’t because of what we teach at the feeder
level. You can get a complete list of players who have played at Conant High School and have played in
our program by visiting our web site and clicking on the Alumni page.
CONANT FEEDER PROGRAM FEES
Many different factors play into the fees that are charged including gym time cost for practices,
tournament and game costs, coaches pay, insurance costs and other administrative costs. The cost for the
2015-2016 season will be $620. The total uniform package cost is $130 ($80 for uniform & $50 for
practice gear). If you have WCBA practice gear, this can be used in place of the Conant practice gear.
Please note that we do pay for gym time at Conant High School.. Please contact Coach Krauser with any
questions regarding the playing fee.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PLAYING FEE IS DUE WITH THE
REGISTRATION FORM. WE DO OFFER PAYMENT PLAN OPTIONS.
THESE ARE OUTLINED ON THE CONANT FEEDER FINANCIAL SHEET
WHICH IS IN THE CONANT FEEDER REGISTRATION INFORMATION.
Thank you for your interest in our program. We hope that this answers all your
questions and that we will see you in the Conant Feeder Basketball Program.
Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via email at coachkrauser@worldclassbasketball.org or phone at (815) 519-6042.
